Knutsford Full Gospel Church (Pentecostal)

Maggie\'s Shaggy Dog Stories
Author: Pastor Margaret Boler, Knutsford
Maggie\'s Shaggy Dog Stories started as a collection to remind the author of many of the good things that God has been doing in her life since she received a deeper revelation about the Lord Jesus Christ, over thirty years ago. Margaret decided to put it into book form after her son Stephen and his wife said that it was very good.

As a regular worshipping believer, God began speaking to her on several occasions as she sat in church. The Holy Spirit began to introduce Himself, and she reached out for a deeper walk with God.

In an age where many people do not even think about God, or believe that anybody\'s God will do, this collection really shows that there is only one God, a triune God; Father, Son,(Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. The collection wasn\'t written to prove this but gives emphasis to this truth.

The price of the book is £5-00 , but if you want to have it posted it will be an extra £1-00. Please ring to order by telephone number, Church Office :- (01565) 634848, or

Knutsford Full Gospel Church (Pentecostal)

The Christian has a very high authority. Jesus said that the weakest Christian is greater than John the Baptist.

Most Christians do not realize the power invested in them for two reasons. a) They probably don’t study the words of Jesus in the New Testament, and b) they do not think that they should need to be baptised in the Holy Spirit,

Some church - attenders, believe that they are Christians although they have not asked Jesus to come and live in their hearts by His Spirit, thus becoming ‘Born again,’ by the Spirit of God. Unless we are properly equipped we will not understand the authority given to us by Christ.

What is this high authority or power?

It is the power of the Holy Spirit when we pray according to God’s will. (Eph. 3:20)

How do we know God’s will?

We discover God’s will by studying God’s word, the Holy Spirit giving revelation. In John’s Gospel, Jesus is recorded as saying . “If you love Me you will obey Me,” (Jn. 14:15) also “Abide in Me and let My word abide in you and you can ask for anything.” (Jn. 15:7)

The Christian has the power to heal the sick. The main hindrance is the lack of faith in God’s willingness to do it for him or her. His word assures us that He desires to use us, and He promised that we would do even greater things than He did while on earth.

It is now our task to show the unbeliever that the ‘Kingdom of God’ is here now, and that Jesus is the King of that Heavenly Kingdom. We have to let others receive the benefits of this Kingdom, which operates on earth. This high authority is given to Christians by Jesus, who has been given all authority in Heaven, on the earth, and under the earth, by God the Father because Jesus, obedient through suffering and death took punishment for our sin and sickness on His own body, for everyone who will accept it. He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father, where He rules and reigns.

How do we use this authority?

The Holy Spirit within us directs us to do all that Jesus wishes us to do. We use this authority for the good of others, to release captives, set free prisoners who are in chains of alcoholism, drugs, gambling, debts, lust (pornography), and mental illnesses

The Christians role is the same as that of Jesus, to heal the sick, the deaf, the dumb, the blind, the lame, and other infirmities. (Matt. 8:17) He Himself bore our infirmities and took our sicknesses.)( 1Peter 2:24b By His stripes we were healed.)

There are many in our communities needing help, but the non church-goer is not aware that all this deliverance is available, because many Christians themselves have not been taught these things.

When Jesus ascended to Heaven, He took captivity captive. He also gave gifts to the church, Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers, so that the members would be made aware of all that is available, and to enable them to do the work of ministry among the people. (Eph. 4:8-16) The purpose of teaching is that we all grow mature and reach those that do not know the Lord.

Much more can be said, but this is food for thought that you as an individual will seek for more power to enable you to go out and do exploits.

To arrive in a position to be used by the Holy Spirit in our God-given authority through our Lord Jesus Christ we must develop a very close walk with the Lord, spending quality time in His presence in the secret place. We must get to know Him in a deeper relationship and learn to hear His voice and learn to respond to Him in obedience.

These commandments are fully based on Loving God and loving your brothers and sisters in the body of Christ. Jesus told us to forgive our enemies. (Sermon on the Mount Matt.Chapters 5-8) He also told us that we could command a mountain to move into the sea, providing that we did not doubt and had no unforgiveness against anyone, otherwise our prayers will not be answered, neither will we be able to use authority in Christ effectively.

Summing up a short conclusion which is a bigger topic, we need to know Jesus and study His Word to be effective in His service.
