| Our 21st UNITE event in 20 months!! We are so thrilled with what the Lord is doing in getting His people together under the headship of Jesus and breaking down denominational barriers! At our event last Saturday (11th May) well over 100 folks came along. Two people made first-time commitments to Jesus and we witnessed a demon being expelled from a woman who came out for prayer. Our next event is going to be held at one of the most ancient churches in North Staffs, St Johns in Burslem the burial place of an alleged witch! This attracts many odd types of people!! However, we believe the presence of God's mighty Holy Spirit has been moving in that place lately, with many souls saved. This is a continuing of the charismatic revival which was powerful in the 1960s at this very same church. On 1st June we will contine to hear testimonies from many local folks who turn up to give God glory. Our guest is Julie Brown who will talk about her relationship with the Lord Jesus. Julie worked overseas for five years with Ed Silvoso as part of the Harvest Evangelism team. During this time she became aware of some of God's plans for our nation and so returned home to intercede and pray for the fulfilment of our nation's destiny in God and particularly for the Royal Family. Julie is connected strongly with 'Hollybush Christian Centre' in N. Yorks, where we first met, but she has a strong affinity with Stoke-on-Trent. We pray for more Holy Spirit fire at the event!! |

The prison today
Young adults and juveniles occupy different residential units. Each residential unit is named after a bird. Units housing young offenders hold approximately 60 prisoners. Units housing juveniles hold 30 prisoners. Almost all the juvenile rooms are for single occupation. There is a mixture of double and single accommodation for young offenders (mostly double). All rooms have integral sanitation and TV and all areas operate the IEP scheme (incentives and earned privilege scheme).
The prison's regime includes education (full/part-time), workshops, vocational training in the construction industry, farms and gardens, works, and NVQs. Various types of offending behaviour groups are available. Other features include the use of voluntary agencies, one-to-one teaching, substance misuse work, and pre-release courses.

| On the Wednesday we could either have you for the whole day 0830 start and ask you to do some coaching for our GLUE groups, one in the morning and one in the afternoon finishing at 1630. If you could only do the afternoon then it's a 1330 start. Hope this makes sense! We'd be happy for you to do anything that you wanted to do but themes might include identity, using gifts, vision, communication, working with others, preparing for the future. |
