This testimony story is the Holy Spirit falling in a unexpected place on a young man. Which gave me shock when it happened.
The Lord had been converting quite a few people, and we were having what seemed like a mini revival at that time. After my own conversion, then my own family son and daughter wife etc. Then the next person was that young man Paul (see in my testimonies, conversion by the power of God in testimonies).
When young people become Christians, they bring a lot of there friends to the lord, so our group had begun to grow,
One evening several of the young men and my self, went down to the local pub for a quiet drink.( I suppose that this will upset many religious Christians, (I may put a message some time in the message board on our views). But if it was wrong, then why did the lord do his work there, both now, and when he was on earth.? As in the bible. If people get drunk then that is sinful, but its not a sin in moderation.
Anyway back to the story. As we sat there, the boys started to talk about football, at the same time a friend of there's, Jon and his brother, came in from the other room, and sat down at our table. The lads kept on talking about earthly things. So I shouted to them, "why not talk about what the Lord had been doing in your lives, instead of football." So they took my advice and began to talk about God.
Now at the same time as I said this. I felt a wind of power blow over my head ( just as in pauls testimony see above note) this was the second time I had experienced this. (testimonies I have put in are not in order). This one follows the above mentioned one).
When the wind blew straight over me it must have blew on Jon, who was directly in front of me. ( jon and his brother daz were not Christians)
Suddenly Jon set off shaking and trembling, his brother sat and looked at him in disbelief, "what's wrong with him he said". Now I had not prayed for him, or touched him in any way. Yet he had set off like a express train in his seat. I had simply said "lets talk about the Lord."And the wind had came and set him off shaking. The wind is the symbol of the Holy Spirit in the bible. Many times I have found out, its not symbolic at all. But real. Also is the fire of the Lord (another symbol for the Spirit ) is also very very real.
Fortunately I had been to a church that John Wimber had been to, which was on fire for the Lord after that, (Crooks Sheffield). There I had met a lady who was telling me, that when she was baptized in the Holy Spirit, that she had shook for 3 days or so. She went back to church and the people laughed, and said you don't have to keep shaking like that. All you have to do is to ask the Lord not to come that strong. "Stay his hand a bit " she said. I had never heard of such a thing. To ask the lord to ease off a bit?. Anyhow she said she stopped shaking straight away when she did ask him.
I was very glad that I had been told this, or I would not have known what to do with Jon. But as it was I did, thanks to what that lady had told me.
So I asked Jon, would you like that to stop shaking, and he said yes. So I reached out my hand to his, and asked the Lord to stay his hand a bit. Immediately he stop shaking.
His bother just sat there and stared at these events. Then the Lord taught me a lesson, his brother Daz had the face of a angel ,so I thought he will convert.sadly he did not, but Jon did, and he was a bit of a jack the lad. So I had my eye on Daz. Here the Lord taught me, I CHOOSE THEM NOT YOU.
Now his brother said to me, "I don't belive in God". Now that was a fatal thing to say to me at that time. I could not stand that, and the Lord had already told me to just put my hand on them and pray, and leave the rest to him. ( again see that other testimony pauls conversation, by the power of God to understand).
So with out thinking, and I don't know why I did it. I stuck out my hand, and said "what you don't belive"!!. "Well grab my hand, I will pray for a touch from the Lord And then you will believe." I just don't know why I said it. I thought why did I say that,? What if nothing happens!. He took my hand and said "all right then, lets see". Well I prayed for him to believe, and I felt my hand go a bit hot, and after only a minute he suddenly let go of my hand. And I have never, never, seen anybody drink a pint as fast as that lad did. He swallowed it down in one go. and almost ran out of the pub, he was gone.
Jon had started to shake again, then he stopped. so i asked him if he wanted me to pray again. he said no, he had asked the Lord himself and it had stopped.
Then after about 15 minutes, Daz came back and sat with us. he looked very shaken up indeed. he said he had been across the road in the next pub, and been thinking about what had just happened. he said "when you held my hand, i felt a power lke a firey red hot needle go into my arm". he said "i thought it was all a myth", a fairy tale. but now I BELIEVE. it is all real. but he said but at this moment in time, he did not want to take it further and become a christian. but now he did believe.
Then we all went home. now Jon had not had very much to drink, after his encounter with the Lord. now where we live, its a very very steep hill.
Jons legs had gone weak with the Holy Spirit, and we had to help him up home. its called been drunk in the SPIRIT he was not drunk with beer, but with the Holy Spirit. (Just as St Paul says we should be in the bible). again this is not symbolic. I have seen it so many times in house meetings we used to have. We used to have to help people down our drive to they cars, after the Lord had fell on them in our meetings. (No we had not had a drink) if you have seen it or experianced it, you will know what i am taking about. There legs go weak and they feel drunk in the Spirit, a little similar like having little too much wine.
Later i was told by Jon, that his brother had gone round to his house at 3 in the mouning, to ask questions about the lord. he could not sleep after what had just happened. when i saw him next, he was asking me about christening his child. so the Lord must have been still working on him.
Jon also told me that the day before, he had stood at the bottom of pauls drive, and when he saw him walking down towards him. he shouted out "I hear that you have become a Holy roller." as he said that, he said that he felt something cut him to his heart. and he felt like weeping. And that night in the pub, something had been drawing him to come to us. (he had been in the next room.)
Jon went to church ( penticostal elim) that same sunday with us. and he said that he felt someone put a hot hand on his shoulder. but when he turned round there was no one there except us behind him. I told him we had not done it. I saw him whip round in front of me. but there was no one there to have done it.
Later that week he was baptised in the Holy Spirit and burst out in tongues. he joined our house group and worshiped wirh us. we got many more similar happenings that i hope to share later. all my testimonies i have writen ,happened in a very close time together, it was just like in the book of acts. we saw conversion, deliverances and healings. i was always a doubting thomas, but after this lot, i can never doubt again.
the experiances of the Lord working kept coming and coming. but the devil did attack us, it was not all a bed of roses. he was not going to sit still,, and let these things happen. he would try to stop them.we were damageing his kingdom. there were some bad knocks ahead, we were in a battle.
