I am amazed at what God has done in and through the life of a 'nobody' who was simply sold out to God.
The following resume of my ministry is not meant to be 'big headed'. It is written with amazement as I look back over 50 years of ministry to see how God has led and used me. To HIM be all the glory.
Right from the start, when I went to Bible College trusting God for my fees (which He provided!), I have proved God to be not only faithful but amazing!
I have been a minister with Assemblies of God for more than 50 years. During this time, as well as building up small churches, I pioneered several new churches.
My ministry has taken me to several countries of the world including USA, France, Switzerland, Germany, Brazil and Australia. Many have been saved, healed and filled with the Holy Spirit.
Having worked with Evangelist Dr Peter Gammons for a number of years, I found myself in Brazil filming his crusades there, and was asked to take some 'overflow' meetings. Although I had often seen God heal the sick in my ministry, I was amazed at what I saw Him doing there. The deaf heard, the blind saw, the lame walked, the dumb spoke. I realised that God is indeed, 'no respecter of persons'. In one meeting, everyone that came for prayer was healed! God is incredible! During another series of Crusade meetings hundreds were saved and healed in a single service. In one city the Mayor and Council were so impressed with the crusade that they invited me to come back for a city wide crusade. I went to Brazil for 6 or 7 years seeing God do wonderful things.
God miraculously opened the door for me to go into BBC Local Radio, where I had my own programme. I went on to work with BBC Local Radio for many years as Religious Programmes Producer for BBc Radio Lancashire. I had the privilege of producing the 'live' broadcast of Billy Graham's rallies in the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, which received the highest ever response from listeners. Over 200 people wrote in to say they had given their lives to Christ, listening to the broadcast. Praise God! For many years I also produced Assemblies of God's radio programmes and won an award for them.
For some years I ran a TV production company which produced programmes for several of the Satellite Christian TV channels and helped many churches set up their own TV programmes. I have lectured on Communications and Radio and TV production techniques in Bible Colleges in Great Britain and Europe, training pastors who have gone back to their church and started a literature and radio ministries.
For a few years, I ran a printing and publishing company which aimed to help churches produce better magazines and publicity. We produced a 'free' monthly magazine which took the gospel into 35,000 homes. I guess only eternity will reveal the results of that sowing.
As I said earlier, I previously worked with Dr Gammons for several years, producing his TV and Radio programmes, and when Dr Gammons returned to UK in 2007, he asked me to join him again as Associate Minister. I am delighted to be working with him once more. I also help run a ministry to retired ministers so even in my 'old age' I am keeping busy!
I love the verses in 1 Corinthians 1;26: "For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence".
You may think yourself a nobody, or weak, or despised, but look what God has done through me!! The stories I could tell of God's leading and provision!! He is amazing!
To God be the Glory, great things he has done!
